The opening dance is the first thing that everyone in the audience sees. It should be expressive and disciplined in performance. Today record yourself doing the opening dance. I have linked the mp3 with the metronome to help with counts.
Go the extra mile in your performance and make it special. This is where the audience decides to watch the show or go for a hot dog. Make them want to wait!
Remember to download the audio and try playing it if on a cell phone. A computer should have no isssues.

Watch the attached video. Notice how the guard is integrated into the show and how their performances are matched identically. There is plenty to see in this show and it can be a great tool to see what's possible with a bit of rehearsal and attention to detail!

oday you will video the first two movements of the show. The audio recording attached has the metronome in the music so it should be easier to keep count this way. Remeber to wait for your checkpoints! Submit via flipgrid for credit!

Today we look at last weeks performance! Watch the show and take notes on what was positive and negative about the performance Friday night.
If you were not in the performance you can still comment on what you see and hear in the recording. Give a positive observation and also what you feel should be a focus for improvement going into the performance this week.
Record your response to flip grid and post it! Responses will be limited to 30 seconds so get your thoughts straight before you submit!
Guard review the video and look closely at the timing in the show. Counting! Can you see where people got ahead early? That is from not counting together and not watching the drum majors! Remember this is a live performance and everything has a human element to it that the recordings and metronomes don't have!
