Jaye Britton works part-time as a Certified Nursing Assistant while working on
obtaining her nursing degree in college. She does not want $3 to be contributed
to the Presidential Election Campaign.
She is not in the military. She can be claimed as a dependent on her parent’s tax
return. Her parents pay for her health insurance so she has no tax penalty. Jaye
is in no hurry to get her refund, so she doesn’t complete that portion of the
tax return that asks for her banking information.

This is ONLY for those who did not complete the job interview in person at school. If you already completed your job interview then ignore this assignment. Due by 3pm Monday!
Instructions:
You will record yourself completing your job interview. Please make sure that I can hear you clearly and that your little brother or sister is not screaming in the background :) When I did this last year when we were out virtual some students preferred to have a parent or family member ask them the questions, that is perfectly fine, or if you would rather do it by yourself that is fine too.
If you mess up, you may start over and turn in the recording that you are satisfied with.
20 points - Remember to introduce yourself first and state your name.
60 points - After that you will need to talk for 60 seconds about yourself. Remember you are telling me about yourself, and how you would make a good employee. Possible things to mention: clubs, sports, favorite subjects, giving back through community service or missions and how all of those things make you a better person and a better worker. Try not to have any long pauses, avoid saying "umm", etc.
20 points - Lastly pick any question of the job interview question sheet that you want to answer and answer it in a sentence or two.
Relax, remember this is about you, don't feel like you have to memorize it word for word!

The exam is open study guide, open notes, and you may use my website as well.
Due:
Complete a resume using the attached presentation and links to help guide you. Resumes should be completed on a Google Doc.
Due:
I know some of you that have had me before may have done this in the past but you can never have too much practice typing. The first "test" will take you 5 minutes and each lesson after that should only take 1-2 minutes each. I want you to use the Print Screen button in the top right of your keyboard to take a screen shot of each lesson score when you finish. Paste this on each slide.
Due:
This will be completed on paper (hand written) and turned into Ms. Rentz at the end of the block. You should have time to finish but you will turn in even if you do not and I will grade you on what you turn in. Please print your name so that I can read it and give you credit when I return.
Due:
If you had my class in the past you know how this works, please let your neighbors know if they need help. When I return I will call each of you up to do a mock job interview. I have done this for years and have had many students come back and tell me it helped them on their job interview and I have pulled many common questions that students get asked over the years. Yes I know that some of you may have a parent or uncle who owns a business and you got a job just by saying, hey I want a job, but at some point you will face a real job interview.
When answering the questions you can take it from the point of view that you are in high school, or that you are just graduating college. Have a place in mind that you would like to work when answering the questions.
The first question, "tell me about yourself" should be a SOLID paragraph. You need to be prepared to talk at least 60 seconds about this topic. This is your chance to talk yourself up, tell me what is amazing about you....maybe you are strong in math, maybe you have good people skills, maybe you are very organized or have good computer skills, maybe you help out at your church or boys and girls club, maybe you play a sport, etc. Then go into a little detail about how each thing makes you an excellent hire. For example, if you play football you could say " I play football for GA and it has taught me that hard work and dedication pay off in the end, and it has helped me become a good team player and work on building my leadership skills. I feel like all of these things will help me be successful working here at _____."
All of the questions after the first question only need to be a sentence or two.
Don't let the last question catch you off guard, if you say nothing it will not look good. It pays to do a little research on the company you are applying for a job at so that you can ask at least 1 good question about the company.
