What
1st/2nd Honors Geometry Skinny
When
10/25/2021

Standards Addressed:
MGSE.9-12.G.CO.7 Use the definition of congruence in terms of rigid motions to show that two triangles are congruent if and only if corresponding pairs of sides and corresponding pairs of angles are congruent.
MGSE.9-12.G.CO.8. Explain how the criteria for triangle congruence (ASA, SAS, and SSS) follow from the definition of congruence in terms of rigid motions. (Extend to include HL and AAS).

Learning Targets /Success Criteria
--I can solve problems involving congruent triangles by identifying congruent parts of congruent triangles.
--I can identify corresponding sides and corresponding angles.
--I can create congruent statements based on corresponding sides and angles.

--I can prove two triangles congruent using congruence theorems such as SSS, SAS, AAS, ASA, and HL.
--I can identify congruent and corresponding sides.
--I can identify included and non-included sides.
--I can identify included and non-included angles.

Introduction/Connection (Bellringer): students will complete definitions on Geometry Terms Review that they remember/know.

Direct Instruction/Guided Practice:
--Review bellringer
--review Triangle Congruence Puzzle (from Friday if necessary)
--Guide students in Geometry Terms Review--fill in words students don't know
--Guide students in Triangle Hints 1 & 2 (attached below).
--If time, students will complete Triangle Congruence ws (attached below).

Independent Practice/Collaboration/Differentiation:
--Differentiation: Foldables, matching activities, peer teaching, accelerated problems for accelerated students, one-on-one assistance for students requiring extra help.
--Independent Practice: Students will complete Triangle Congruence Puzzle

Assignment: Triangle Congruence w/s or Triangle Congruence Practice w/s
