Date of Instruction:  10/06/2021

Opening (I Do)

An engaging process for lesson introduction that is specifically planned to encourage equitable and purposeful student participation. Describe the instructional process that will be used to introduce the lesson.

TKES 1, 2, 3,4,5, 8,10

Standards:

MGSE9-12.F.TF.8

MGSE9-12.F.TF.9

 Learning Target:

I can use the sum and difference formulas to evaluate a trig function.

Success Criteria:

I can substitute one identity for its equivalent.

I can find to angles from the unit circle that add or subtract to give me the value of an angle not on the unit circle.

.

Introduction/Connection:

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

Connection – Find the exact trig value of an angle on the unit circle.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

I will demonstrate how to use the sum and difference formulas to find the value of an angle not on the unit circle. I will demonstrate how to find the value of a trig function when given the value of one trig function and the quadrant of the terminal side.

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10

GUIDED PRACTICE:

We will work several problems together. (Degrees and Radians)

We will discuss how to determine the quadrant and why it is important.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will practice by completing Orange Book p408 1-7 odd "a", 9,13,17,19-27 odd

Closing  (We Check)
