 Learning Target:

I can find the trigonometric form of a complex number.

I can perform operations with complex numbers in trigonometric form.

Success Criteria:

I can use the Pythagorean theorem to find the hypotenuse of a right triangle.

I can add like terms.

Introduction/Connection: 

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

 

Connection – complex numbers in standard form

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

Discuss homework.  Notes and examples on the trigonometric form of a complex number (Power Point)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE:  

We will work practice problems that correspond with the notes. Students will be allowed to collaborate to find solutions.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Complex Numbers in Trigonometric Form worksheet

 

Scaffolding will be provided throughout the lesson.

Students may work in pairs or independently.

Detailed explanations of problems will be provided for students on Google Classroom.
