I can solve a non-right triangle

Success Criteria:

I can determine what information I am given for a triangle.

I can solve a proportion.

I can solve an equation by taking the square root of both sides.

Introduction/Connection: 

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

Connection – Solving a right triangle

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

I will answer questions from the homework.  I will demonstrate how to create a diagram for the word problems.

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE:  

We will work together to solve several word problems using the Law of Cosines.  Students will direct each step needed to solve a problem.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will practice by completing Yellow Book p547 3,5-13 eoo, 15,17,21.  Students may work independently or in pairs.
