 Learning Target:

I can perform operations with vectors.

I can find the magnitude of a vector.

I can find the component form of a vector.

Success Criteria:

I can add/subtract vectors.

I can multiply a vector by a scalar.

I can use the distance formula to find the distance between two points.

I can use the Pythagorean theorem to fud the side of a right triangle.

Introduction/Connection: 

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

 

Connection – Despicable Me – Vector – Committing Crime with both magnitude and direction! (Clip)

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

Notes on Vectors with example problems.

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE:  

Practice problems will be done corresponding with the notes.  Students will have the opportunity to collaborate to find solutions.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Yellow book p561 1-15 odd

 

Scaffolding will be provided throughout the lesson.

Students may work in pairs or independently.

Detailed explanations of problems will be provided for students on Google Classroom.
