Course Description:
Algebra 1 is the first course in a sequence of three required high school mathematics courses that are designed to ensure college and career readiness.
 
The fundamental purpose of Algebra 1 is to extend the concrete math concepts learned in earlier grades into abstract reasoning and problem solving (i.e., solve for the unknown variable given what is known).

Unit 2: Solving and Graphing Systems of Equations
Unit 3: Polynomials and Factoring
Unit 4: Radicals
Unit 5: Modeling Functions
Unit 6: Exponents
Unit 7: Comparing Functions
Unit 8: Statistics
 
Materials:
- School ID (everyday!)
- 1.5-2inch 3-ring binder
- Lined notebook paper
- Pencils (no pens)
- Graph paper
- Notebook dividers (Syllabus/Info, Daily 10, Unit 1, Unit 2, etc.)
- Scientific Calculator (TI-84+ or TI-30XS Multiview)
