COVID-19 Information

Using recent changes to CDC/DPH guidance and internal data from the past two years, the following changes will be implemented for isolation and quarantine.

Students or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 may return after 5 full days have passed since onset of symptoms or test date (whichever is earliest) as long as they do not currently have symptoms and have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. If symptomatic or have not been fever-free for 24 hours, they will stay home until they meet these criteria or complete 10 full days, whichever is earliest date for return. Masks are strongly recommended for any of the 10 remaining days of isolation when returning to school.

Quarantine for home exposure will depend on the ability of the positive case to isolate from others.

If unable to isolate: quarantine count for the exposed student will begin after the positive case completes 5 full days of isolation. Student may test on or after day 5 and return with a negative test, or if they choose not to test, wait until day 11 to return as long as they have not had symptoms (if symptomatic--isolation count begins as if positive for C19). Masks are strongly recommended for students who return to school before the 11th day until 10 full days of quarantine are met.

If isolated: quarantine count for the exposed student will begin the day after the last date of contact with the C19 positive case.

Home test results will not be accepted for early return. An antigen/PCR test reported to DPH is required.
