Class Electronics Policy

A sheet with the information below was sent home the first day of class and its return with a parent/guardians signature is the first graded assignment of the class.

Electronic Device Policy:

This policy applies to all electronic devices including cell phones, Apple Watches, tablets, listening devices/earbuds, and any other devices not mentioned.

  • Before class starts, all cell phones must be placed in the cell phone holder corresponding to the student’s desk number (or other secure location as designated by Mrs. Clark). Earbuds or other listening devices must be removed and secured by the student. A charging station is located at the cell phone holder and is available to any student.
  • Electronic devices and/or listening devices may not be in use during class without my express and very clear permission. There will be times during certain class days when use of devices will be allowed. I will be very clear when you may use a device for research or activities. If you choose to use these device(s) when I have not allowed usage, they will be taken up. Earbuds will be returned to you at the end of class. Cell phones will be turned over to an administrator with a referral.
  • Electronic devices may not be used to cause any disruption in the educational process or for unethical purposes. Prohibited uses include, but are not limited to, cheating on assignments and/or tests (yes, taking a picture of your work and sending it to another student is cheating, even homework), harassing or bullying others, and taking or distributing unauthorized photographs or recordings of other people.

If a student is found to be in violation of this Electronic Device Policy, the device will be taken up by the teacherturned over and placed in a secure location by administration, and a referral will be submitted. If confiscated and given to administration, a parent or legal guardian must come to pick it up from an administrator.  Refusal by a student to surrender the device is not an option and administration will be called.
