Classroom Procedures

In addition to the student handbook rules, these are procedures that will help make our classroom run smoothly and efficiently.

Food and Drink:

Only bottled water is allowed. Keep the water away from the computer at all times. DO NOT ask me if you can go pick up your Door Dash... we will have a no food policy in class this year.

Announcements/Intercom:

Listen quietly when the intercom is on because this is something we all need to hear.

Before the Bell Rings:

Please enter the classroom quietly with your ID on, place your phone in the cell phone holder, and sit in your assigned seat.  After being seated, you should access my Google Classroom and begin reading over the posted lesson plan for the day.

Tardy to Class:

Please get to class on time. If you are late for class, you will be marked tardy and I will email home to let your parents know.

Restroom use during the Block:

Students may use the restroom in a "one person at a time policy." Please be courteous of the time spent in the restroom because other students may be waiting to go. Also, be aware that staff will be monitoring the cameras to see who is consistently using the restroom during class time. When possible, use the restroom in between class change.

End-of-Class Dismissal:

Stay in seat until the bell rings or dismissed by the teacher. No lining up at the door and waiting. Make sure your work area is clean and that you take all of your belongings when you leave. I am not responsible for any personal items that you leave behind.

Lab & Classroom Equipment:

You are responsible for all equipment and materials for your assigned seats. Notify me of any changes, vandalism, etc at the beginning of the block to avoid the possibility of you being responsible.

Computer Usage:

No games, videos, music, etc. should be accessed during class. All speakers should be off. Be aware that I periodically check student history and files for inappropriate material. If any are found, appropriate action will be taken. Do not activate “sticky keys” on your computer. Do not manipulate settings or make changes to your computer.  Do not print anything without permission.

Turning in Assignments:

Unless other instructions are given, assignments should be turned into the appropriate tray or electronic location. I will be working very hard to minimize the amount of paper we are using this year.

Guests:

If a guest comes to class, you should be on your VERY best behavior. Administrators, board members, and other faculty may enter the classroom at anytime so stay on task and keep your phones out of sight.

Grades:

Infinite Campus is available for parents to check student’s grades via the internet -- see media specialist for assistance. I will be entering a work ethic grade weekly, along with other graded assignments.
