Honors Spanish 1 Interrogatives, Present Tense Practices in textbook
When
11/10/2020

Standards: question words (interrogatives)

Learning Targets: I can form questions in Spanish.
Success Criteria: I'll know I've got it when I can ask a friend: Do you study? When do you study? Why do you study? Where do you study? How often do you study? Who studies?

Intro/Connection: What does a detective ask? (who, what, when, where, why, how many, which)

Direct Instruction/Guided Practice:
remind of quiz Friday over present tense of AR verbs

Into notebooks, write the following new vocabulary: la pregunta = question. las cosas = things, la comida = food
quién = who,
qué = what
dónde = where
Adónde = Where ("to" where, with a verb like "are you going...")
por qué = why
porque = because
cuándo = when
cuánto/cuánta = how much
cuántos/cuántas = how many
cuál = which
cómo = how (except here: ¿Cómo es? = What is it like, ¿Cómo son = What are they like?)
quién = who example: ¿Quién prepara la comida? Who is preparing the food?
quiénes = plural who (which takes a plural verb ending in "n") Example: ¿Quiénes toman el examen? = Who(plural people) are taking the test?

Write Into Notebooks:
If the verb in a question is the tú form or the usted form (you), then your answer verb will change the ending to the "yo." Examples: ¿Trabajas tú? Sí, yo trabajo. / ¿Habla usted español? Sí, hablo español.
If the verb in a question is the "ustedes" form (you all/y'all), then your answer verb will change the ending to the "nosotros" form. Examples: ¿Navegan ustedes la red en la clase? Sí, navegamos la red en la clase.
