Teacher: Mark Felton
Course/Subject: Algebra 2/ Find Prominent Features of graphs
Date of Instruction: Tuesday, Wednesday, January 19th & 20th
Standard(s): Sketch a graph and find prominent features on the graph with a graphing calculator.
Find zeros (MGSE9-12.A.APR.3), find the domain and range using interval notation (MGSE9-12.F.IF.5), y axis intercepts, increase, decrease, positive, negative, maxes and mins, symmetries and end behaviors (MGSE9-12.F.IF.4).
Learning Target: I can sketch a graph and find prominent features such as maxes and mins, increase and decrease, positive and negative, informal and formal end behavior, symmetries, y intercept and zeros..

Introduction/Opening/Connection:
Direct Instruction: Lots of oral questions during lesson. Notes with examples of each type of problem and comments pertaining to the examples
Guided Practice: We worked about ten divison (both Polynomial long division and synthetic division problems from homework with lots of special cases and all types of remainders) Complete as much of the graphing assignment as you can in class, the rest is homework.
Independent Practice/Collaborative Practice/Differentiation: Monitoring students throughout lesson as some students will work individually and some will work with partners. Some students will work ahead on additional assignments or enrichment activities
Summarizer: Ways to write remainders.
Assignment: Packet on Polynomial Graphing
