What
1st/2nd Honors Geometry Skinny
When
10/19/2022

Standards Addressed:
MSGE.9-12.G.CO.11. Prove theorems about parallelograms. Theorems include: opposite sides are congruent, opposite angles are congruent, the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other, and conversely, rectangles are parallelograms with congruent diagonals.

Learning Targets /Success Criteria:
--I can identify the properties of parallelograms.
--I can use the properties of parallelograms to find missing angles or side lengths.
--I can classify/identify special parallelograms as squares, rectangles and rhombus.

Introduction/Connection (Bellringer): students will complete #1-13 on the back of the Parallelogram Properties w/s attached below.

Direct Instruction/Guided Practice:
--review bellringer
--guide students in discovering properties of rectangle, rhombus in Book of Quadrilaterals foldable (attached below)

Independent Practice/Collaboration/Differentiation:
--Differentiation: Graphic organizers, discovery activity, one-on-one assistance for students needing help, provide more rigor for accelerated learners.
--Students will work in pairs to complete parallelograms w/s (attached below).
--if time, students will complete the IXL lessons listed below.

Resources: IXL

Assignment: Students will complete the following IXL lessons due date TBA:
--N6 Properties of Parallelograms (shortcut LLK)
--N7 Proving a quadrilateral is a parallelogram (shortcut H89)
