Standards Addressed: MSGE.9-12.G.CO.11. Prove theorems about parallelograms. Theorems include: opposite sides are congruent, opposite angles are congruent, the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other, and conversely, rectangles are parallelograms with congruent diagonals.

Learning Targets /Success Criteria I can solve problems involving parallelograms.
• I can classify/identify special parallelograms as squares, rectangles and rhombus.
• I can list/identify the five properties of parallelograms.
• I can apply the properties of special parallelograms: square, rectangle, rhombus and use them to find missing side lengths or angle measures.

Introduction/Connection (Bellringer): students will complete #1-17 on special parallelograms w/s

Direct Instruction/Guided Practice
--Review bellringer
--Guide students in finishing Book of Quadrilaterals flip book identifying properties of squares and solving problems involving missing angles and sides.

Independent Practice/Collaboration/Differentiation
--Special Parallelograms w/s attached below.
--Differentiation: Graphic organizers, discovery activity, one-on-one assistance for students needing help, provide more rigor for accelerated learners.

Resources: IXL

Assignment: IXLs due Tuesday, 10/25 by beginning of 4th block:
