Standards Addressed:
MGSE.9-12.G.CO.5 Given a geometric figure and a rotation, reflection, or translation, draw the transformed figure. Specify a sequence of transformations that will carry a given figure onto another.


Learning Targets/Success Criteria:
--I can graph a image and identify the image's coordinates given a sequence or composition of transformations.
--I can identify the rule or sequence of transformations given the pre-image and image.
--I can graph reflection, rotation, translation or dilation on the coordinate plane.


Introduction/Connection (Bellringer): students will complete attached bellringer (Mixed Review)


Direct Instruction/Guided Practice:
--Review bellringer whole group
--Guide students in completing Compositions of Transformations section of foldable.
--Guide students in completing BACK of bellringer paper (compositions of transformations)
--Guided practice problems on Compositions of Transformations handout (Compositions of transformations 11).
--Guide Practice on writing the rule of a given composition (attached below: Compositions of Transformations25)
--Guided practice/collaborative work: 9.5 Composite Transformations



Assignments: Students will finish the following IXLs on dilations:
1) L16 Dilations: find the coordinates (shortcut 5KZ)
2) L18 Dilations: find the scale factor (shortcut ZDM)
