Standards Addressed:
MGSE.9-12.G.CO.1 Know precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment, based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc.
Learning Targets /Success Criteria
I can identify and name lines, line segments, rays, planes, angles, and points by defining, drawing and naming these terms.
I can measure and name angles.
Introduction/Connection: (Activator): Sign registration forms. Then as an activator, students will complete Classifying Angles (attached below).
Direct Instruction/Guided Practice
--Review/check bellringer
--Guide students in completing vocabulary foldables with teacher direction (attached below: Points, Lines and Planes foldable, Collinear/Coplanar foldable, Intersection of Lines and Planes, and Angles foldable).
Independent Practice/Collaboration/Differentiation:
--students will practice measuring angles w/s as a bellringer (see attached w/s below).
--Graphic organizer on vocabulary, monitor students throughout lesson for one-on-one help, provide extension for specific students.
Summarizer/CFU: Round robin calling on students to provide examples or definitions of specific words taught in class.
Assignment: students will complete the DeltaMath assignment: Vocabulary Practice
