Standards Addressed:
MGSE.9-12.G.CO.2 Represent transformations in the plane using transparencies and geometry software; describe transformations as functions that take points in the plane as inputs and give other points as outputs. Compare transformations that preserve distance and angle to those that do not.

MGSE.9-12.G.CO.4 Develop definitions of rotations, reflections and translations in terms of angles, circles, perpendicular lines, parallel lines and line segments.


Learning Targets /Success Criteria:
1. I understand the meaning of the following terms: transformation, rigid/non-rigid transformations, pre-image/image, similar figures, congruent figures, reflection, line of reflection.
2. I can graph a point on the coordinate plane. I can identify the coordinates of a point on the coordinate plane.
3. I can identify a reflection on the coordinate plane.
4. I can write the rule for a reflection given the pre-image and image.
5. I can graph a reflection on the coordinate plane given a rule.

Review:
5. I can find and access Mrs. Little's web site for use of lesson plans.
6. I can find and access Mrs. Little's Google Classroom for notes, resources, links, assignments, and due dates.
7. I know the Remind code for my specific class and can join Mrs. Little's Remind for daily updates.
8. I understand the best way to communicate with Mrs. Little outside of the classroom.
9. I know the rules and expectations for Mrs. Little's classroom.

Introduction/Connection (Activator): students will complete Points Lines Review (attached below).

Direct Instruction/Guided Practice:
1. Review bellringer
2. Word splash: transformation, rigid/non-rigid transformations, pre-image/image, similar figures, congruent figures, reflection, line of reflection. On a half sheet of paper, students will capture what they remember from Wednesday's lesson about these words.
3. Quick review of web site, Google Classroom, Remind information, and necessary class supplies (attached in GC).
4. Begin Transformations book foldable (attached below) with focus on reflections.
5. Begin Reflections w/s attached below.
