What
1st/2nd Honors Geometry Skinny
When
2/13/2023

Standards Addressed:
MGSE.9-12.G.C.1 Understand that all circles are similar.
MGSE.9-12.G.C.2 Identify and describe relationships among inscribed angles, radii, chords, tangents, and secants. Include the relationship between central, inscribed, and circumscribed angles; inscribed angles on a diameter are right angles; the radius of a circle is perpendicular to the tangent where the radius intersects the circle.

Learning Targets /Success Criteria:
--I can identify, describe, and name lines/parts of a circle including: circumference, radius, diameter, chord, secant, and tangent.
--I can apply tangent theorems to solving for missing lengths in problems involving tangent lines.

Introduction/Connection (Activator): WDYN or WODB.

Direct Instruction/Guided Practice:
--Guide students in completing Tangent Lines foldable (attached below).
--Guide students in selected problems on Tangent Lines Practice 2022 (attached below).

Independent Practice/Collaboration/Differentiation:
--differentiation: Graphic organizers, color coding lines/segments, one-on-one assistance for struggling students, accelerated practice for higher performing students.
--Independent practice: tangent lines practice w/s (attached below).

Summarizer TOTD.

Assignment: Students will complete Tangent Lines Practice 2022 (attached below).
