Standards Addressed MGSE.9-12.G.CO.9 Prove theorems about lines and angles. Theorems include vertical angles are congruent, when a transversal crosses parallel lines, alternate exterior angles are congruent and corresponding angles are congruent; points on a perpendicular bisector of a line segment are exactly those equidistance from the segment’s endpoints.
Learning Targets /Success Criteria:
--I can solve problems involving parallel lines cut by a transversal.
--I can recognize and apply properties of the alternate interior angle theorem.
--I can recognize and apply properties of the alternate exterior angle theorem.
--I can recognize and apply properties of the same side interior angle theorem.
--I can recognize and apply properties of corresponding angles postulate.
Introduction/Connection (Bellringer): students will complete Quizizz bellringer as a review for Unit #2, Test #1.
Direct Instruction/Guided Practice
--Review Bellringer (most missed question from Quizizz)
Independent Practice/Collaboration/Differentiation:
--students will complete Quizizz bellringer reviewing topics for Unit #2, Test #1
--students will complete Unit #2, Test #1 (CFA) in Progress Learning.
--Differentiation: Graphic organizers, color code congruent angles, provide one-on-one assistance for struggling students, provide material for accelerated learners, student-led review/teaching. All accommodations as outlined in 504s and IEPs.
Summarizer/CFU: Quick vocabulary review prior to test.
