Learning Target: I know that I have learned it when I can:
-I can understand and create the OTHER past tense - L'Imparfait

Success Criteria:
I know how to form it.
I know when to use it.


Introduction/Connection: Let's review forming the L'Imparfait. We'll try every verb we can think of. Easy right?!


Direct Instruction:

Let's use it! First we'll read stories of the childhoods of last year's students. What did they "used to/always/would" do?


Write your own - students will write at least 5 sentences describing what they "used to/always/would" do, say, wear, eat,etc.


Students will share with a partner.


Let's try using only the IMP to tell a story. How/why is it used here?

Let's review when to use each of the 2 tenses. We'll draw our chart and apply it! We'll take sentences and indicate which tense - proving it with our chart.
