MGSE.9-12.G.GMD.2 Give an informal argument using Cavalieri’s principle for the formulas for the volume of a sphere and other solid figures.
MGSE.9-12.G.GMD.1b. Give informal arguments for the formula of the volume of cylinder, pyramid, and cone using Cavalieri’s principle.

Learning Targets /Success Criteria:
LT: I can calculate the volume of composite figures.
SC:
• I can determine the types of solids in the composite figures
• I can calculate the volume for each of the solids.
• I can choose whether add or subtract the volumes to find the final solution.

Introduction/Connection (Bellringer): students will complete both sides of attached worksheets: Volume of Cylinders and Cones Practice and Volume of Spheres practice w/s.
