Standard/s: MLIV.PIC: Understand subtleties in reading such as intent, humor and tone.

Learning Target: I know that I have learned it when I can:
Read Le Petit Prince beyond the plot

Success Criteria:
I can identify humor in a reading.
I can work through the author's intent.
I can recognize tone.

Introduction: We'll be sure each group has a 'planet' - we'll make some predictions about what could the 'intent' be for a planet that houses a ______________ (king, lamplighter, etc)

DIRECT INSTRUCTION/WORK SESSION:

Students will be working in groups on this project. There will be a graphic organiser to complete that includes - favorite quote, 20 vocab expressions, a summary and a picture.

Each group will work together to best understand the chapter and then to accurately reflect it's purpose. Students will be encouraged to use a historical lens as well as a personal lens.
