A Tremendous Tank

Guided Practice: Students will learn about the Mathematics application during the A Tremendous Tank activity.

Independent/Collaborative Practice/Differentiation: Students will be allowed to work in groups of up to 4 to complete the given assignment Practice Worksheet

Summarize/Check for understanding: Teacher questioning, guided practice will be checked for accuracy and corrections will be made.

Students will create a large aquarium tank. They must design, calculate volumes and surface areas, and determine the construction costs for the tank for their choice of animal(s). Additional requirements are to write a report about the tank conditions, build a scale model of the tank, and present their work to the class.

Students will present their group work on the tremendous tank aquariums.
