ASL Final Video- Expressive Skills

FALL 2024


I will truly miss each of  you.  You are amazing and unforgettable.  Leave me with a message that I can keep forever. What do you want me to know? Use the structures and vocabulary that you have learned in ASL 3 to leave me with a final message. 


Required throughout:

Required elements

Choose 3 of these elements

  • Object+Subject+Verb

  • Topic+comment

  • Non-manuals (brows!)

  • Fluidity (signs should flow)

  • Clear, accurate signs


  • Fingerspelling

  • Classifiers

  • Use of Space

  • Indexing

  • Time

  • Contrastive Structure

  • Ranking/Listing

  • WH/ Yes, No Question

  • Rhetorical questions

  • Rule of 9

  • Opinions

  • Describing people


Use the required elements and AT LEAST 3 of the optional elements to tell me about your time in ASL.  You can use vocabulary like family, personalities, activities, occupations, clothing, states/cities/countries, animals, food, and any other vocabulary that we have learned in ASL 3.  Everything you say will be strictly confidential - what happens in ASL 3, STAYS in ASL 3!!!!  You can tell me funny things, serious things, what you really think of your classmates, what you really think of me, the most fun things about this semester, the most boring... Anything you want!  


You may record this at home and make as many resubmissions and revisions as you like before the deadline- Wednesday, December 18 by NOON.  At that time, the exam is closed and I won’t accept any more submissions.  Post your video in Google Classroom.  


You must have at least 10-15 sentences/questions.  

Show me that you know how to use ASL to clearly communicate.
