Learning Target: I know that I have learned it when I can:

I can demonstrate basic geographical knowledge and can make accurate assumptions about French culture based on this knowledge.

Success Criteria:
I know the name, location and relevance of each of France's external neighbors.
I know the name, location, relevance and description of each of France's mountain ranges and rivers.
I know how France is divided up.
I know the name, location, relevance and description of at least 5 provinces.

INTRODUCTION: Quiz Warm-ups: Name the mountain or river that I am describing. Try your hand at these slides: #55, 58-60 (Geo2 Powerpoint below).

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

We'll do a short quiz on the information from Side 1 of your map!

We'll learn general concepts about France's important Provinces - i.e. how many are there, how many are actually inside the Hexagon, etc. - see slides #64-72

Let's learn some new adjectives too! - We'll add on to our notes and then practice what we've learned.
