Introduction: I would like you to be prepared for next year in geometry. We are going to work with triangles so that you have some working knowledge of triangles before you get there.

Learning Target: I can use the facts about triangles to solve triangles.

Success Criteria: I know the Pythagorean theorem. I know that there are 180 degrees in a triangle. I know SOHCAHTOA. I can use the above facts to solve a triangle.

Direct Instruction: I will go over the Pythagorean theorem and the triangle sum theorem with examples.

Guided Practice: Students will work to complete a series of triangles that are missing sides or angles.

Independent Practice: Students will complete problems independently and then pair share.

Assessment: The teacher will informally assess by moving around the room.
