Learning Target: I know that I have learned it when I can:
Explain the differences between the 3 past tenses in French.

Success Criteria:
I know when/where/how to use each tense.
I understand how the difference in each tense can be employed to further tell my story.


Introduction - let's play with the PQP

Gimkit - all 3 past tenses.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION/WORK SESSION:

Let's read another great story (in the past) for inspiration. How is this one different? What grammar did this force?

What do people include in a postcard? We'll write one in English just to be sure we get the idea.

Students will all be given a post card from around the world. They'll do a quick dig to find out facts about this place. Then they will craft the perfect postcard message to write on the card. It should naturally include all 3 tenses: the things you did (p.c.) the setting (imp) and some background reasoning (pqp).

We will mail these to a classmate :)
