SLearning Target: I know that I have learned it when I can:
I can remember and use what I learned in French I to understand when I hear or read French.
I can use this prior knowledge to speak French.
Success Criteria:
I know vocabulary needed to present myself.
I know correct French pronunciation.
I know resources I can use to review.
Introduction/Connection:
Qui suis-je. Teacher assumes the identity of a student in the room. Students try to determine who I am.
DIRECT INSTRUCTION/WORK SESSION (in person only):
Students will then play the WHO AM I GAME? They will first review a set of questions in a graphic organizer (similar to the ones they just answered for their introductions). They will practice them orally. Then Students will be given a new identity (celebrity, historical character) that they will not know (via a sticky note given to their partner). Using only French, the graphic organizer and peer interviews, students will try to determine their new identity.
Teacher will check completion of Page 1-2 review. We'll use Page 1 to play: 'Autour du Monde' (Around the World) Game
Page 2 - students will colaborate with their partners to check their work.
Practice quiz - pages 1 & 2
Who is your favorite Olympian??? Students will all chose an Olympian to be (current or even former). Students will begin to learn to research in French, will compile notes in French and will ultimately become this olympian as they present themselves to the class. Props and prizes to be included!
