Learning Target: I know that I have learned it when I can:
1. Read and write comfortably in French
2. Tell where French is spoken and why

Success Criteria:
I can use information I gleaned these past 2 days to read and write.
I can identify on the map the French Speaking Countries of the World.
I can analyse patterns and historical trends.
I can explain how/wide French is spoken outside of France.


Introduction/Connection:
We'll create our class Group Me and discuss penpals


DIRECT INSTRUCTION/WORK SESSION:

Students will share Olympic themed sentences on the board.

Students will finish and present their findings about their Francophone country to the group. Classmates will attempt to take notes - best notes (most true facts) will be rewarded!

Students will now become their olympic athlete and will begin researching and compiling information about their athlete. They will prepare for a 1 minute presentation to the Olympic Jury (us) to claim the award of Greatest Athlete of All Time!
