I can relate text to background knowledge and other areas (today - philosophy)

Success Criteria:
I know how to activate prior knowledge, use context clues, make assumptions, take chances, to understand spoken French.

Introduction: Descartes - we'll listen to a clip to see if we can understand more of this important philosopher. While we watch, try to imagine how his life/work/philosphies might have influenced our author: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5hVLD4x20k&authuser=0

DIRECT INSTRUCTION/WORK SESSION:

Chapter 5 - We'll prep the chapters vocabulary and set out to read and understand it as a class.

We will answer the questions on slide #13 from the Petit Prince powerpoint to check our comprehension.

We will try to respond to slide #15 - making an analogy between each element and a "baobab" of our choice.
