Introduction: Would the following sentence require the subjunctive?

DIRECT INSTRUCTION/WORK SESSION:

We'll discuss how your essays are coming along. Have you found solid evidence to back your claim? Are you using the correct French terminology - how can you check??? We'll check out an exemplar from years ago - what works? What needs work?

Let's continue digging into the Subjunctive more closely - usage 1. What actually is the Subjunctive and why do we need it? How do these expressions force us to use it? Can we avoid it?

We'll try our hand at reading Subjunctified sentences and of course we will write out own.

Homework - Keep writing your essay - final draft will be due Wednesday (typed and submitted on GC).
