Success Criteria:
I know how to activate prior knowledge, use context clues, make assumptions, take chances, to understand spoken French.

Intro - Let's repaint the "Cadre" (setting) and "Etat d'esprit" (mood) from Chapter 1. How would you describe "le ton" (tone) of our narrator. Is the narrator the author?????



DIRECT INSTRUCTION/WORK SESSION:

We'll do a quick review of Le Passe Simple - what is it? Who uses it? Can you recognize it? Can you take a sentence out of it to use it? - we will need all of these skills for this novel novel.

Let's work through the chap 2 vocab.

We will listen to a video reading of chapters 1 and 2. What did you hear/get from our 1st peek at chapter 2?

We will carefully read together chapter 2. We'll be seeking to understanding this early plot, collecting facts and making predictions (i.e. who is he talking to/why) and will be hyper-focused on stylistic devices - where/when/why does the tense change????

We'll work on writing out our answers to our Q&A about chapter 2.
