Signing Naturally: Unit 5 “Talking About Activities”
Lesson 5: Asking If Done
Deaf Awareness PSA Project Standards:
ASL2.P2 Students present rehearsed and unrehearsed material in the target language, such as dialogues, skits, and poetry. Students will:
Demonstrate SLPI Survival to Survival+ or ASLPI Level 1.0 to 2.0 Proficiency sign production skills of rehearsed and unrehearsed materials.
SN Unit 5 Lesson Standards:
ASL2.IP1 Students exchange information in the target language, utilizing cultural references where appropriate. Students will:
F. Ask questions and provide responses based on topics such as self, others, and immediate environment.


SN 5.5 Learning Target:
I can ask “Have you done…” questions and respond with NOT-YET or FINISH.




I know I’ve got it when:
I can give the topic (object) of the sentence and then list the action done to it (verb)- (AKA- topicalization)
I can tell if I’ve completed a task by signing FINISH or haven’t completed it by signing NOT-YET

Intro: Chores Vocabulary (w/pictures)- See Power Point
Dialogue Practice: Household Chores:
Signer A: Ask who B lives with
Signer B: Tell who
A: Ask what each person’s household chores are
B: Name (up to 3) chores for each person (spatial agreement)
Ex: one other person, two other people, three other people or more
A: Ask if B doesn’t mind doing his or her chores (specify which chore)
B: Give opinion
A: Respond
Practice Activity 5:4: Handout p. 245-248
Remaining class time- work on selecting song/story for project and begin researching signs.
Thursday: SN 5.5 Asking If Done
