Rachael Walters is 1 of 14 students around the country selected for the American Battlefield Trust's Youth Leadership Team. Rachael recently participated in Youth Lobby Day on Capitol Hill. As an exemplary constituent, she made both the American Battlefield Trust and Georgia proud! During Youth Lobby Day, she spoke with Representative Buddy Carter and Senator Jon Ossoff's Office to ask for their support in funding the American Battlefield Protection Program and its restoration and interpretation grant programs at $20 million in Fiscal Year 2023. She was 1 of 4 members who spoke to her representatives in-person. Amongst her team members, she is extremely knowledgeable in preservation and American history. Rachael states that her efforts would not be possible without the Glynn Academy Ethnology Club.
