Alyssa, otherwise known as Nae, is a junior and is a perfect representation of the Golden Rule. She exemplifies the spirit of teamwork, whether that is when she is on the basketball court, in the hallways, or participating in class. Nae is an all-around incredible individual.
She is dedicated to her craft but does not forget about those around her. She is all-inclusive no matter where she is. I have seen her actively take the lead when peers have not been chosen as partners and asked to work with them. She is friendly in her demeanor and has an incredible willingness to help her peers, which fosters a comfort level for those around her and makes a classroom much more enjoyable. She consistently goes out of her way to make sure that everyone feels welcomed and valued. She is a true friend to her peers, whether holding a bag or door or just lending an ear.
She is full of encouragement. Watching her in the hallways with fellow basketball players and encouraging them makes her stand out. She is about TEAM. Her commitment to the success of others is evident in her words and actions on the team.
Most significantly, Nae has a unique ability to make others feel seen and appreciated. It is her genuine kindness that she exudes, making others gravitate toward her. If classrooms had a student like Nae, they would be able to see the positivity and difference that just one person can make.
