Glynn Academy FCCLA “Dares to Dream” at State Leadership Conference

Glynn Academy's Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter recently attended the State Leadership Conference held in Columbus, Georgia from March 24-26. The chapter was honored with an Honorable Mention status for the 2024-2025 school year, showcasing their dedication to making a positive impact in their community through FCCLA initiatives.

Glynn Academy FCCLA received recognition for their commitment to Georgia FCCLA's State Programs, highlighting their hard work and involvement in various community-focused activities. This includes the collection of 16,905 soda can tabs to support the Ronald McDonald Foundation. The chapter proudly sent 10 members to compete in the State STAR Event Competitions, with several noteworthy achievements:

  • Madison Warren & Olivia Coiner: Event Management, 1st place

  • Annabelle Hall: Leadership, 4th place

  • Sydney Montgomery: Entrepreneurship, 6th place

  • Llarizsol Rosales & Heidi Martinez: Interpersonal Communications, 7th place

  • Cayleigh Anderson: Teach or Train, 8th place

  • Hiya Patel: Career Investigation, 11th place

  • Ben Lee & Addie Church: Focus on Children, 16th place

In addition, Sydney DeLano excelled by placing 2nd in the state for her score on the Teaching as a Profession Proficiency Test and will participate in this event again at National Leadership Conference. The chapter also recognized Zion Jones and Jada Boatright, who were selected as runners for the STAR Event competition, ensuring that the events ran smoothly and on schedule.

Further, Zion Jones and Caitlyn Felton participated in Online STAR Events, creating videos for RedTalks on Education and Instructional Video Design.

The highlight of the conference for Glynn Academy FCCLA was the achievement of Madison Warren and Olivia Coiner, who will advance to the National STAR Event Competition at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, this July.

Glynn Academy FCCLA is immensely proud of its members' achievements and their dedication to leadership and community service. The chapter looks forward to continuing its mission of fostering personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education.
