Assignment:
Use the existing timeline or create your own using the information provided to complete the following task:


* Use the Google Slides
* Add an image to all of the facts provided for the Haitian timeline.  If making your own timeline, use the Google doc to be able to cut and paste the evidence.
* Add a fact from your homework to the timeline


This assignment is in preparation for a Harkness discussion on Wednesday (12/8).
Possible topics to be discussed: 
* Was the Haitian Revolution caused organically by a maroon revolt (Dutty Boukman) or Vincent Oge and the French Revolution?
* Was the 4th Phase of the Haitian Revolution caused by France (Napoleon) or Toussaint L'Ouverture declaring himself Governor for life?
* Were the tactics used during the 4th Phase of the Haitian Revolution justified (by both the French and the Haitians)?
* What are the most significant EFFECTS of the Haitian Revolution (short term or long term)?

The Atlantic trading system involved the movement of labor—including enslaved persons and the mixing of African, American, and European cultures and peoples, with all parties contributing to this cultural synthesis.

* groups of up to 3 or individually
* if working in groups, share editing rights on your doc so all can build the finished product
* each person must submit the finished product individually on this Google Classroom assignment
* It doesn't have to be completed on the Google Slides provided--you are welcome to use any software or web-based program to complete your finished product

Directions:
Read the Lockard article and select between 1-3 claims made in the piece
Choose a graphic organizer that represents the structure of the author’s argument. 
create 1-3 graphic organizers 
the organizers had to be inspired by the content of the article
Within each graphic organizers, write a few (3 or more) facts that Lockard uses to support his claim
student exemplars from the past were shown during class (and on daily video)
A sample will be given during class (live stream and class video)...the sample(s) provided are off limits.
