Standards:
MGSE9-12.G.C.1 Understand that all circles are similar.
MGSE9-12.G.C.2 Identify and describe relationships among inscribed angles, radii, chords, tangents, and secants. Include the relationship between central, inscribed, and circumscribed angles; inscribed angles on a diameter are right angles; the radius of a circle is perpendicular to the tangent where the radius intersects the circle.
Learning Target:
Students can use appropriate vocabulary to describe the parts of a circle.
Students will use theorems of circles to define the relationships formed by lines/line segments intersecting circles and, in turn, find corresponding measurements based off of those relationships.
Success Criteria:
I can name and identify the different parts of a circle.
I can solve for missing arcs and angles (inscribed, central, outside and inside) of a circle.
I can solve for the missing measures of tangents and secants of a circle.
Agenda: (see GC)
