 Learning Target:

I can draw an angle in standard position.

I can find a coterminal angle.

I can find a complement.

I can find a supplement.

I can convert from Degrees-Minutes-Seconds to Decimal Degrees.

I can convert from Decimal Degrees to Degrees-Minutes-Seconds.

Success Criteria:

I can rotate a positive angle counter-clockwise.

I can rotate a negative angle clockwise.

I can convert minutes and second to a decimal.

I can find the quadrant where the terminal side of an angle lies.

Introduction/Connection: 

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

Connection – Shawn White –Who is he and what made him famous?

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

We will check Geometry review for understanding. I will introduce rotational angles and the vocabulary that is associated with it using the Angles of Rotation and their Measure PowerPoint- Google Classroom.

 

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE:  

We will complete Orange Book Page 292 27-41 odd, and 67, 69, 71 and 72 together in class.  (Problems can be found in the Google Classroom).  This work will be checked and discussed during class.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will work independently to complete problems 1, 5, 7, 21-27 odd on page 369 in their textbook.  Their work will be completed on notebook paper and uploaded to the Google Classroom.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding.

SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING:

We check the problems from the orange book p292 to be sure students understand before they are given their textbook assignment.
