 Learning Target:

I can find the quadrant where the terminal side of a radian angle lies.

I can draw an angle in standard position.

I can find a coterminal angle.

I can find a complement.

I can find a supplement.

I can convert from Radians to Degrees.

I can convert from Degrees to Radians.

Success Criteria:

I can rotate a positive angle counter-clockwise.

I can rotate a negative angle clockwise.

I can convert minutes and second to a decimal.

I can find the quadrant where the terminal side of an angle lies.

Introduction/Connection: 

Connection – Area of a circle, Circumference of a circle

DO NOW: SAT/ACT Practice – students will begin class by completing practice problems from the SAT/ACT.  We will discuss the strategies used by the students to complete the problems.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

We will define a radian angle and how it relates to the rotational angle vocabulary that was introduced with angles in degree measure. Radian PowerPoint – Google Classroom

 

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE:  

As a class, we will complete problems 5-21 odd and 43-65 odd from the Orange Book p291. Problems are located in the Google Classroom.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will independently complete problems from their textbook p369 #3, 4, 9-15 odd (complete all parts).  Students will record their answers on notebook paper and then upload their answers to the Google Classroom.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding.

As we complete the Orange Book assignment, I will check for the students’ understanding of the material before assigning the work from their textbook.
