Teacher : Holly Carter

Course/ Subject: Pre-Calculus

Date of Instruction: 1/19/22

Opening (I Do)

An engaging process for lesson introduction that is specifically planned to encourage equitable and purposeful student participation. Describe the instructional process that will be used to introduce the lesson.

TKES 1, 2, 3,4,5, 8,10

MGSE9-12.F.TF.2

MGSE9-12.F.TF.3

MGSE9-12.F.TF.4

 Learning Target:

I can determine an arc length. I can determine the area of a sector.

Success Criteria:

I can convert an angle in degrees to radians.

I can convert an angle from radians to rotations.

I can convert units of measure.

Introduction/Connection:

Connection – The diameter of a bicycle wheel and the number of rotations the tire makes gives you the distance traveled.

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

I will connect arc length and area of a sector formulas to the proportions used in Geometry.  I will demonstrate how to use arc length and area of a sector formulas are used to solve several types of problems using the Arc length/ Area of a Sector power point.(Located in Google Classroom)

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10

GUIDED PRACTICE:
