MGSE9-12.F.TF.4

 Learning Target:

I can use the unit circle to evaluate trigonometric functions.

Success Criteria:

I can solve a 30-60-90 triangle.

I can solve a 45-45-90 triangle.

Introduction/Connection:

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

We will review three trig functions learned in Geometry.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

I will define six trigonometric functions.  I will demonstrate how to use the unit circle to evaluate a trig function.

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10

GUIDED PRACTICE:

We will work together to evaluate trig functions.  We will do several problems from the evaluating trig functions worksheet together and check the remaining problems as the students complete them.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students practice evaluating trig functions by completing Evaluating Trig Functions worksheet.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding.

TKES : 1,2,3, 4,5,6,7,8
