 Learning Target:

I can graph a trigonometric function.

Success Criteria:

I can find the amplitude.

I can find the period.

I can find the phase shift

I can find the vertical shift.

I can find 5 critical points for on cycle.

Introduction/Connection:

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

I will demonstrate how to sketch the graph of a trigonometric function when given its equation.  I will demonstrate the characteristic of the graph of a trigonometric function.

Work Period  (We Do, You Do)

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

TKES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7. 8,10

GUIDED PRACTICE:

We will work several examples together.  Students will use practice problems given to them to show their level of understanding.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will complete Yellow Book p426 1&3, 5-29 odd

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding.

TKES : 1,2,3, 4,5,6,7,8

SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING:

Students will graph several trig functions as I walk around the classroom and check for understanding.
