 Learning Target:

I can use one trigonometric function to find the value of the remaining trig functions by using the trigonometric identities.

Success Criteria:

I can identify the quadrant where the terminal side of the angle lies.

I can use the Pythagorean Identities to find another identity.

Introduction/Connection: 

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

We will connect the Pythagorean Theorem to the identities.

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

 I will introduce the trigonometric identities.  I will demonstrate how to use the identities to find the value of the trigonometric functions.

GUIDED PRACTICE:  

I will demonstrate how to use the trig Identities to simplify a trig expression.  We will work together to complete Simplifying Trig Expressions worksheet.

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will practice by completing Orange Book p 381 19-39 all
