I can verify a trigonometric identity.

Success Criteria:

I can substitute one identity for its equivalent.

I can simplify complex fractions.

I can add/subtract fractions.

I can factor.

Introduction/Connection: 

Do now  -SAT/ACT Practice- students will answer multiple choice questions written in the SAT or ACT style – posted in Google Classroom

 

Connection – Geometric Proofs for congruent triangles

DIRECT INSTRUCTION:

 I will demonstrate how to verify a trigonometric identity.

Students learning by doing/demonstrating learning expectations.  Describe the instructional process that will be used to engage the students in the work period.

GUIDED PRACTICE:  

We will work several example problems together and discuss the different options there are for verifying each identity. We will work together to solve Orange Book problems on page 381 45-50 all

INDEPENDENT/COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE/DIFFERENTIATION:

Students will independently practice by completing the circled problems on the back of the fundamental identities worksheet from last week.

Closing  (We Check)

Describe the instructional process that will be used to close the lesson and check for student understanding.

SUMMARIZE/CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING:

 

We will check the orange book problems to verify understanding.
