Standards: Cultural Comparisons - similarities/differences in target culture
Learning Targets: I can identify similarities and differences between an American predominately-Hispanic community and my own.
Success Criteria. I can give evidence of why the movie McFarland USA is a good example of building bridges between people of differing opinions and cultures.
Intro/Connection: List as many things as you can where you see written Spanish in your community. (Think signs, stores, packaging, etc.) Any RELAY track runners in the class? Football players? cheerleaders? What does a relay team focus on even when there is a personality rift?

HOMEWORK: Explain why the movie McFarland is a good example of how people with cultural differences can build bridges to bring about unity and better relationships between themselves.
Include at least two examples, from the movie, that presented a message of how unity and "reparation," (repair) of relationships can happen.
Conclude your paragraph with your own opinion of the movie, and whether it was enjoyable to you or not, and why.
