AA.FGR.4.3 Analyze and graph radical functions. AA.FGR.5.2 Define complex numbers i such that i 2 = –1 and show that every complex number has the form a + bi where a and b are real numbers and that the complex conjugate is a - bi.

LT:

  • I can simplify a radical expression

  • I can simplify powers of i

 SC:

  • I know that any number that can be rewritten as a product of 2 like factors is a perfect square number

  • I can rewrite a number as a product of the largest perfect square factor and another factor

  • I know that any number that can be rewritten as a product of 3 like factors is a perfect cube number

  • I can rewrite a number as a product of the largest perfect cube factor and another factor

  • I can simplify powers of i using the fact that i2 = -1
