REVIEW FOR TEST ON PARAMETRIC/POLAR/VECTOR IN CLASS |
Learning Target: I can take derivatives and integrals of functions/relations in parametric/polar/vector representations. How do I can find arc length. I can find distance traveled. I can find speed. I can find displacement/position. I can convert from one number system to the other. |
Success Criteria: I can substitute a variable in to an equation. I can eliminate the parameter in a parametric equation. I can define a cartesian equation parametrically and vice versa. I can find the components of a vector. I can add/subtract/multiply/divide vectors. I can take the derivative/integral of a vector.I can transfer between cartesian and polar coordinates. I know what r and theta mean. I can find the intersections between two polar curves. I can find when a polar curve is at the pole. |
Introduction/Connection: What are all of the topics we have learned in this unit? Which one do you need to study the most for the test tomorrow? Direct Instruction: Go over the review questions and give necessary additional instruction |
Guided Practice: Students work on problems while teacher moves around helping if needed Independent/Collaborative Practice/Differentiation: scaffolding throughout lesson; application problems in HW |
Summarizer/Check for Understanding: What is the hardest part about graphing polar? |
Assessment: Teacher questioning and moving around the room helping individually |
Assignment: Study for test |
