Classroom Procedures

In addition to the student handbook rules, these procedures will establish our classroom culture should you be a student that is receiving face-to-face instruction from me:

Before the Bell Rings: Come in quietly, sit in assigned seat, prepare for class, and complete daily activator assignment. Make sure you have your mask and id on and your phone PUT AWAY.

Tardy to Class: Student should go sign in tardy book located by the door, using a pen from the "sanitized" location. If a student is just arriving to school, the student will place the admit slip in the front pocket of folder and then sit in assigned seat.

Leaving the Class during the Block: You do not have to ask for permission to go to the restroom. Just politely notify me in a manner that does not distract the class. Use common sense with this method. No student will leave the class without a student ID. No phones are to be taken into the bathroom. Only one student may leave at a time.

End-of-Block Dismissal: Stay in seat until bell rings or dismissed by Mrs. Roberts. No lining up at the door and waiting. Area should be free of trash and your other belongings when you leave.

Materials: There will be no sharing of materials this semester, so please come prepared! Reference my back to school video for what you should bring to class each day.

Lab & Classroom Equipment: You are responsible for all equipment and materials for your assigned seat. Do not write on machines, mouse pads, books, walls, or tables. Do not remove any coverings from the machines or wiring. Do not unplug anything associated with the computer. One person per computer and chair. Do not sit on the countertops, desk, or tables. Again, you are responsible for all equipment and materials for your assigned seat. Notify me of any changes, vandalism, etc at the beginning of the block to avoid the possibility of you being responsible.

Computer Usage: No games, videos, music, etc. should be accessed during class. All speakers should be off. Be aware that I periodically check student history and files for inappropriate material. If any are found, appropriate action will be taken. Do not activate “sticky keys” on your computer. Do not manipulate settings or make changes to your computer.  Do not print anything without permission.

Turning in Assignments: Unless other instructions are given, assignments should be turned into the appropriate tray or electronic location. Place your paper on top. Do not take papers from the tray. I will be working very hard to minimize the amount of paper we are using this year.

Classroom Folder: All notes, class work, and returned papers should be kept in your binder. It will be graded randomly each 9 Weeks.

Food and Drink: Only bottled water is allowed. Keep the water away from the computer at all times.

Cheating Policy: Honesty is required at all times! Cheating will result in a grade of zero.

Intercom: Listen quietly when the intercom is on. Stay on task. This is not free time.

Guests: If a guest comes to class, you should be on your VERY best behavior. If you have questions, quietly ask your neighbor for assistance, before requiring my attention.

Grades: Infinite Campus is available for parents to check student’s grades via the internet -- see media specialist for assistance. Please review your syllabus for more information concerning our grading system.

In addition to the student handbook rules, these procedures will establish our classroom culture should you be a student that is receiving virtual instruction from me:

Daily Check-Ins: In our Google classroom, there will be a DAILY question and/or task for you to complete. You will find this under the STREAM feature tab at the top of the Google Classroom page. In order to receive credit, you MUST answer the question or complete the task before 4pm on the day it was assigned. No exceptions. This participation will be included in your work ethic grade for my CTAE courses.

Turning in Assignments: All assignments will be turn into the Classwork feature built in to Google classroom. I will not accept work that is emailed or texted to me. Documents that are shared with me WILL NOT be graded. You can take a photo or scan of your work and upload to Classwork.

Late Work: I will be glad to accept late work for items that are for the current grading period. You will not receive full credit, but I do not mind being flexible on this to assist you. However, if you turn your work in late, please do not expect immediate feedback or an immediate grade.

Cheating Policy: Honesty is required at all times! Cheating will result in a grade of zero. This includes plagiarism from online sources. Do not share your hard work with others and allow them to turn it in. You will also receive a zero!

Weekly Meets: We will have online instruction where you will need to be present. At minimum this will occur one day a week. I will post our meet details in the stream of our classroom at least 1 week prior to the meeting. You can use your cell phone for this option.

Grades: Individual assignments will be graded and returned in Google Classroom, however you must view Infinite Campus on a regular basis to see your current average. I will post grades each Thursday for every class. Please review your syllabus for more information concerning our grading system.
