Classroom Procedures

In addition to the student handbook rules, these procedures will establish our classroom culture should you be a student that is receiving face-to-face instruction from me:

Food and Drink:

Only bottled water is allowed. Keep the water away from the computer at all times. DO NOT ask me if you can go pick up your door dash... we will have a no food policy in class this year. Food delivery services are also NO LONGER ALLOWED on campus!

Announcements/Intercom:

Listen quietly when the intercom is on. Stay on task. This is not free time.

Before the Bell Rings:

Come in quietly, sit in assigned seat, prepare for class, and complete Daily 10 assignment. Make sure you have your id on and your phone PUT AWAY.

Tardy to Class:

Student should go sign in tardy book located by the door. If a student is just arriving to school, the student will place the admit slip in the front pocket of folder and then sit in assigned seat. If you are not in your seat when the bell rings, you are tardy.

Restroom use during the Block:

Students may use the restroom in a "one person at a time policy." No phones are to be taken into the bathroom. Please sign in and out for this privilege. Students are allowed 5 bathroom breaks every nine weeks.

End-of-Block Dismissal:

Stay in seat until bell rings or dismissed by Mrs. Roberts. No lining up at the door and waiting. Area should be free of trash and your other belongings when you leave.

Lab & Classroom Equipment:

You are responsible for all equipment and materials for your assigned seats. Notify me of any changes, vandalism, etc at the beginning of the block to avoid the possibility of you being responsible.

Classroom Chairs:

Do not rearrange seating unless prompted by your teacher. Chairs should always be pushed back in to your desk prior to leaving the classroom.

Computer Usage:

No games, videos, music, etc. should be accessed during class. All speakers should be off. Be aware that I periodically check student history and files for inappropriate material. If any are found, appropriate action will be taken. Do not activate “sticky keys” on your computer. Do not manipulate settings or make changes to your computer.  Do not print anything without permission.

Turning in Assignments:

Unless other instructions are given, assignments should be turned into the appropriate tray or electronic location. I will be working very hard to minimize the amount of paper we are using this year.

Classroom Folder:

All notes, class work, and returned papers should be kept in your provided composition book and pronged binder. It will be graded randomly three times each 9 Weeks.

Guests:

If a guest comes to class, you should be on your VERY best behavior. If you have questions, quietly ask your neighbor for assistance, before requiring my attention.

Grades:

Infinite Campus is available for parents to check student’s grades via the internet -- see media specialist for assistance. Please review your syllabus for more information concerning our grading system.

Classroom Temperature:

As the day progresses, a lot of heat is generated by the use of 34 computers in our classroom. Therefore, it can be rather chilly prior to lunch in our room. Please prepare accordingly.
